There’s a class and cadence to classic films that seems to be impossible to replicate on the modern screen. Elegance seems to translate better in black and white.
Maybe it’s just a nostalgic longing for the good ol’ days. Or maybe it’s that society really was more glamorous sixty years ago. When cigarette smoke looks inherently sexy instead of cancer-causing, you know it’s a different time.
There’s just something about classic movies that I love. Although “classic” may be a bit of a misnomer. There are hundreds of movies that are long-forgotten – contemporary fluff pieces that even today are considered only slightly more substantial.
